The Department of Operative Dentistry is situated on third floor of the Dental College. It consists of 2 wings, The Undergraduate and the Post Graduate Wing. The Under Graduate wing has 45 working chairs for BDS students and maintains its separate store supply for materials and facilities required at this level. The Post Graduate course was started in 2004 and the new Post Graduate wing was established in 2006. The Post Graduate wing has 15 working chairs with 12 PG students, (Post Graduate wing) 4 in each batch. The department is equipped with most recent equipments and facilities-use of microscope required for post graduate academic and clinical activities. At present, the Department is headed by Dr. Vineeta Nikhil (B.D.S., M.D.S., KGMC). The department is actively involved in teaching and learning practices apart from various research activities and publications at staff and student level.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Dr. Surbhi Kakar (PG Student) was awarded 2^nd Prize for her paper presentation-“Comparative Evaluation of Shaping Potential of Manual Ni-Ti K File and Protaper Rotary Using Computed Tomography: An In Vitro Study” at the 23rd FODI & 16th IES National Conference, 2008, Chandigarh
