The Department of Prosthodontics is the largest department of the college. The subject
of Prosthodontics is very vast, as it includes Complete Dentures, Removable Partial
Dentures, Crowns & Fixed Partial Dentures, Implants and Maxillofacial Prosthesis.
In addition to these, the subject of Dental Materials is also taught in the department
to the BDS students. The intake of MDS Students is five per year, which sums up
to a total of fifteen PG students pursuing MDS course at one time.

LABORATORIES & AVAILABLE FACILITIES
The Department of Prostodontics is well equipped with various labs, enumerated as
under:
For BDS
Labs for Dental Materials & Pre-Clinical Prosthodontics work. Clinical lab for
3rd Year, 4th Year and Interns.
For MDS
A separate clinical lab for PG Students has been allotted with modern equipments.
In addition special facilities like an Induction Casting setup, & separate air–conditioned
lab for advanced Ceramic Work with pressable ceramic unit is also provided.
Clinics for BDS
Well equipped, spacious clinics with 46 dental units.
Clinics for MDS
Each MDS student has been provided with modern dental unit with operatory. All the
necessary modern devices are provided to each student by the department.
WORK SHOPS ORGANIZED
CDE PROGRAMME.
On the 14th October 2006 Department of Prosthodontics organized a CDE
on “Placement of Implants”. Two patients received free implants & the whole
surgical procedure was shown live to the students, staff, & the delegates on
CCTV, amidst a lively, educative & interactive question answer session.
In addition there were three lectures given by Dr. S.S. Pandey, Dr. Upendra &
Dr. Khurshid. Surgical procedures were done by Dr. Upendra & Dr. S.S. Pandey.
About 100 delegates from other institutions participated in this academic activity.
